Empirical Linguistics and Literary Studies
An Innovative Research Module in the Master's Program Literary Studies and Linguistics
This module for students of the Master's Program Literary Studies and Linguistics consists of a course, "Advanced Empirical Methods", which is taught by Caroline Kutsch, and participation in a project. The students work on empirical research projects led by staff members of the department of English and American Studies. The project leaders support the students and guide them through the research process. The students thus gain hands-on experience in empirical research and apply the methods they learn in the course. Furthermore, the students are included in actual research carried out at our department early on in their academic careers. The module was taught for the first time in the winter term 2018/2019 and all participants considered it a success.
