Research and Teaching Assistant at the Chair of English Literature and Cognitive Studies

Judith Eckenhoff has been a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Cognitive Literary Studies at RWTH Aachen University since 2016 and is currently working towards her PhD. She holds a B.A. in English and media studies from the University of Bonn and graduated from the University of Freiburg in 2016 with a Masters degree in British and American Cultural Studies. In her thesis project on postapocalyptic storyworlds, she explores the ecological estrangement of imagined fictional futures and the genre hybridisation of twenty-first century postapocalyptic fiction. Besides ecocriticism and cognitive literary studies, her research interests include Gothic Studies, nineteenth century literature, and film. In 2018 she coordinated the interdisciplinary ERS project “The Apocalyptic Dimensions of Global Climate Change in Contemporary Models and Discourses” at RWTH Aachen University.
